GreenwichHR and AWS

Greenwich.HR is focused on delivering labor market intelligence solution(s) that bring new insights to customers. They track the daily hiring and pay behaviors of over 3 million organizations and offer high-definition insights to customers through the largest, fastest-growing, and most precise data platform available.
As their business has evolved, they decided to rethink their approach to application hosting focusing on three key business drivers:
• Scaling the solution to meet increased customer growth
• Avoiding capital expenditures for new hardware and software
• Supporting a highly available and resilient solution
Greenwich.HR partnered with Enable Data to evaluate their business drivers and provide options for a future state application platform. Our cloud engineering team reviewed the current application design along with functional and non-functional requirements. The recommendation was to migrate their solution(s) to Amazon Web Services (AWS) with some application refactoring to leverage on-demand capacity needs.
A comprehensive infrastructure design was completed and then validated using the AWS Well Architected Framework. Some of the key services included:
• AWS Networking
• Relational Database Services (RDS)
• Elastic Container Services (ECS)
• Simple Storage (S3)
Enable Data provisioned and configured the infrastructure using CloudFormation templates and Jenkins pipelines, developed a new application management interface , reengineered the web crawler service to leverage containers and auto-scaling features, and collaborated with Greenwich.HR to successfully migrate their solution to AWS.
